Hi all!  My name is Gretchen Seigworth and I am working with Cornell Cooperative Extension's Vegetable Program within the CCE Erie County office in East Aurora, New York. Under the Direction of Dr. Darcy Telenko, another intern, Jodi Callwood, and I will be scouting farms in Erie, Niagara,Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegheny, and Genesee counties.

A little bit about myself:

I am currently a junior pursuing a B.S. in Agribusiness Management at Penn State. My minors are in Civic and Community Engagement as well as International Agriculture. I grew up on a 300-acre vegetable farm near Cook's Forest, PA where I cultivated a strong passion for all things Ag from a very early age. At Penn State, I serve as a Soil Nutrient Manager with PSU's Sustainable Student Farm Club. I am also a research assistant on a variety of projects, from middle income wage decline in Pennsylvania to invasive species/pests control in Australia, with Dr. Ted Alter, Professor of Agricultural, Environmental, and Regional Economics at Penn State. In addition to the iPiPE internship, I will also be working with Burley Berries in Warsaw, PA (look them up on Facebook if you get the chance!). I love to travel and I live for adventures!

I look forward to all the learning opportunities I will have during my internship!
